Nifty finish under 5500; realty, metals, banks slip
MUMBAI- Benchmarks that closed under the level of psychological support as weak signals global signals hurt sentiments. Realty, metals and banks to be a leader in decrease whereas the healthcare stocks ended in the positive note. National Stock Exchange's Nifty expire at 5497.70, fell 47.05 points or 0.85%. The broader index achieve a high of 5541.80 and low of 5487.65 intraday. Bombay Stock Exchange's Sensex ended at 18338.69, fell 192.59 points or 1.04%. In today’s trading, the 30-share index hit a high of 18492.68 and low of 18319.88. BSE Midcap Index fell 0.84 % and the BSE Smallcap Index change 0.74 % lower.
Amongst sectoral indices, BSE Realty Index down 1.60% while BSE Metal Index was down 1.46% and BSE Bankex slide 1.19%. BSE Healthcare Index increase 0.92%. There are five that include the major Nifty losers such as Jaiprakash Associates -3.37%, DLF -3.28%, Siemens -3.04%, Bajaj Auto -2.75% and the last Tata Steel -2.69%. Jaiprakash Associates made a report of net profit about Rs 301.95 crores for the quarter that ended on March 31 and in 2011 is compared to Rs 243.97 crores last year. The number of income was up to Rs 4074.62 crores from Rs 3358.38 crores a year ago.
