U.S. Deputy Secretary William Burns gives conclusion of the visit to India
Deputy Secretary of U.S. William Burns, gives a conclusion about a day long visit to India.
Burns makes meeting with Foreign Minister Ranjan Mathai, National Security Adviser Shivshankar Menon, Foreign Minister SM Krishna, Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
In the agenda of the meeting, Burns and his Indian mediators did pembahsan back on the question of the importance of the US-India partnership in the future. Deputy Secretary also reminded that India should continue the implementation of the agreement the US-India civilian nuclear and provide equal opportunity for foreign and domestic companies who want to compete in India’s civilian nuclear market.
Burns are also conducting a review of the developmental problems that occur in South Asia, Middle East, and Asia-Pacific region with Mathai Foreign Minister and Foreign Minister Krishna. Both parties accept the growth of bilateral trade and they provide support for continued efforts to strengthen cooperation that they have done in the field of defense and the economy, which remains a strategic priority for the partnership interests.
Foreign Minister Krishna told him that he looked forward plans to make a visit to Washington for the next round of US-India Strategic Dialogue in 2012.
